Ecosystem in a tank

From the outset, Biolytix was determined to engineer an efficient, robust wastewater treatment system.

To do this, we first researched the reasons for the problems and high operating and maintenance costs of mechanically aerated systems.  Rather than working to just marginally improve on these inefficiencies, we spent millions of dollars to develop an efficient way of treating wastewater.

The result: the BioPod - ecosystem in a tank

The BioPod is a technological breakthrough. It is now Australiasia's most awarded wastewater treatment system because it eliminates the mechanical complexity of conventional systems and significantly reduces on-going costs.  It is also robust.

Nature treats the waste: no expensive mechanical aerators to run

The BioPod uses the biolytic filtration process - the efficient breakdown of waste by a range of soil organisms. The organisms quickly aerate the sewage and convert it to oxygen-rich humus. As the wastewater filters through this humus it is cleansed. No large machines are needed and minimal human intervention is required as the organisms naturally replenish themselves.

Mechanically aerated systems: rely on expensive aerators to work

Mechanically aerated systems are water-based. As water is oxygen-poor, it is not the natural environment for the organisms to efficiently treat waste. Therefore the organisms need a life support system - large aerators to artificially pump oxygen into the water. This is not how nature works and therefore can cause a number of problems. The aerators are expensive and over time may need to be fixed and/or replaced.

I have never seen anything as simple and as natural as the Biolytix System. The concept behind the process is truly novel.

Professor Ted Loudon, Chariman of the last International On-site Wastewater Treatment Conference

We considered all the options for household waste treatment systems & chose Biolytix because we found that the Biolytix System had the least moving parts, lowest energy usage and fewer compulsory services.  I am confident that we made the correct decision. We have experienced absolutely no problems at all with any part of the system and have the advantage of the use of a garbage gobbler in our kitchen. On my experience, I am confident to recommend Biolytix to anyone requiring a waste system.
